Thanks to the official Doctor Who Facebook page, I just discovered the little gem of a video down below. It’s possibly the most hilarious thing I’ve ever seen, and I literally can’t stop watching it. I’m sure non-Doctor Who fans will think it’s funny, but if you’re a Whovian…prepare to die laughing.
Also – yes, this is a year old, but as I *just* came across it myself, I had to share it anyway.
I promise I’ll get back to my regularly scheduled postings soon. I’ve been so busy that it’s hard to keep up with blogging. I’m working hard on keeping deadlines, which is why I’m trying to post on schedule every week, even if time doesn’t really permit it. But I’ll definitely be back in full force on Friday, so see you then!
Remember the video I posted a while back of the dog versus the pile of leaves? I’ve got another one! This one shows man’s best friend going up against the evil Dr. Doorstop. The leaves never stood a chance, but Doorstop is a much greater challenge! See how our superhero makes out in the video below.
I won’t have a ROW80 post going up on Sunday, since we’re taking a week or two off before the second round starts. HOWEVER, I’ll be bringing you my review of The Hunger Games on Monday, as I’ll be seeing it on Saturday morning. I AM SO EXCITED.
My dad brought me up on classic rock. My favorite band has got to be Queen. My favorite song? “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Okay, it might not be the most original choice, but there’s a reason why this song is so great.
Want to know what else is awesome? The guy below. His name is Richie Castellano and he is playing and singing every part of “Bohemian Rhapsody.” (Talk about talented…) My dad is a stickler for the original tune, so if he likes him, I’m sure you guys will, too. Check it out!
I just got done watching The Voice and Smash, so I’m in a music-y mood right now. Here’s an awesome video of a family of three young boys (ages 9, 12, and 14) playing a banjo, fiddle, and guitar to Ralph Stanley’s “How Mountain Girls Can Love”
[WARNING: This video will make you feel inadequate, untalented, and just downright useless. BE STRONG, MY FRIEND.]
This is pretty amazing – a girl who can take any word and instantly say it backwards. You can see her siblings and friends getting frustrated that they can’t make her stumble. Take a look and try it for yourself. (I certainly can’t do it!)
It’s Saturday here in the States and super cold in New York. The skies are gray, the ground is covered with snow, and I’m wearing two sweatshirts right now.
I need a pick-me-up.
Below you will find a video of what may just be the happiest dog found on this planet. Also, a possible explanation for crop circles.
So, I think I have a thing for Disney Medleys now. It all started back here when I posted about Heather Traska’s amazing video.
I’ve got another one for you!
This one is from the Doo Wop Shop, which is a group from the University of Massachusetts. They don’t have the crazy editing skills that Heather does, but this video is funny. And these guys are obviously talented. They sort of act out the stories as they sing it, which makes this video even more awesome than it already was. Check ‘em out below.
(If you’re adverse to laughing and cheering people, check out the studio version in the link below the video. It isn’t as funny, but it is a lot clearer.
My favorite songs are the first one and the last one. Favorite singers? That’s tough because they all have very unique strengths. Christopher Kazarian is such a powerful singer (plus he has ROCKIN’ hair), but I have to give props to Ron Vorce, too. I mean…he sang from The Little Mermaid and KILLED it.
I have the greatest amount of respect for people who can do things that I’m hopeless at. Now, I’ve got some rhythm and I’m not too bad at learning choreography, but I’m not a dancer in the sense that it is what I live and breathe every day (I’ll reserve that for writing).
I love dancing so much, though. It’s a beautiful art form. I especially love when a dancer can tell a story just by the way he or she moves. The video below is a wonderful example of this.
You might have recognized Harry Shum Jr. there – he’s Mike Chang from Glee. He tweeted (@iharryshum) this video yesterday and I just fell in love with it. He’s got some awesome facial expressions, and I really enjoy his acting (especially when he’s being silly). The whole group featured in this video is amazing though, and I just loved the story telling and the message of the entire thing.
Today is the first day of Hanukkah and, although I’m not Jewish, I really wanted to share one of my all-time favorite videos with you. This is an oldie-but-goodie. If you haven’t seen it before, please take a look – it’s hilarious. If you’re already familiar, give it another go. It always cheers me up.
My favorite lines are “Not too shabby!” or “Drink your gin and tonica, and smoke your marajuanica.” What are yours?
No matter what you practice, or even if you don’t practice at all, have a wonderful time through the holiday season. 2012 is going to bring GREAT things, I can feel it.
